Unmolested 1990 Mercedes-Benz 2.5-16 Evolution 1.

No. 297 of 500 examples ever made. Never officially imported to the USA and reportedly one of only four in the country.

Ownership history known since new with service records dating back 13 years.

Fully serviced and possibly the nicest example available today. Anywhere in the world.

SOME HISTORY

Completed at the Bremen Mercedes-Benz plant on March 30th of 1989, this Evo 1 was delivered to its first owner who exercised it regularly along the Cologne sections of the German Autobahn.

Upon his retirement circa the year 2000, the gentleman relocated to the Canadian province of British Columbia, bringing his 190E Evo with him.

The vehicle would remain in the hands of its original owner until sometime in 2007 when his health started to fail and he could no longer drive. It was then passed onto a local father and son team who would spend thousands of dollars for the next ten years to complete a full mechanical reconditioning of the vehicle. Thus making sure that every system works as intended by Mercedes-Benz in 1989.

Purchased by the owner of Autobahn Vault as his personal car. It remains in a climate controlled facility, along with his personal collection until today. It has continued to receive regular maintenance regardless of miles driven, along with regular exercise to make it possibly the nicest, most reliable 190E Evolution in the market.

Under current ownership, the vehicle has been invited and displayed at several car gatherings around the southeastern United States where it has earned recognition as follows:

- 2018 Amelia Island Concours D'Elegenace, Fernandina Beach -FL: - Displayed on the field at the Ritz Carlton Hotel during the Cars & Coffee event.

- Best Sedan award by the Mercedes-Benz Club of America.

- 2018 StarFest, Birmingham-AL: - Displayed at the Mercedes-Benz factory in Vance, AL during their Concours D'Elegance.

- Second Place in its class.

- Silver Star Preservation Award extended by the MBCA.

- Exhibition laps around Barber Motorsports race track.

- 2020 Ferrari Club of America's Cars on 5th, Naples-FL: - Invited to be displayed with selected cars from the Ferrari Club of America.

COSMETICS

Dents are non existent with only few fine scratches which are hard to see unless pointed out.

Paint retains its deep gloss shine as a sign of a vehicle that has been looked after its entire life.

Interior is virtually flawless with seats that show no cracks or scuffs; even the driver's seat is perfect. Factory carpets are free of cuts or odors.

Dashboard is crack free and so is the wood surrounding a very well preserved leather shifter. There are two small cracks on the center air vents, which is common to all 190Es.

Wheels retain their factory finish and show very minor pitting, consistent with the age and mileage of the car.

No cracks or chips on glass.

There is minor warping along the upper lip of the trunk spoiler. Virtually all 190 Evos have this due to the difference of materials that it is made out of; this particular case is certainly not as bad as the ones that are sitting at the Mercedes-Benz museum in Stuttgart!

Engine bay is immaculately manicured down to the factory hose clamps and of course zero rust, anywhere on the car.

MECHANICALS:

All systems work as intended. Only factory Mercedes-Benz parts used.

Engine performs with plenty of power, while the dogleg manual shifts with crisp confidence.

No strange odors or leaks under the car. No vibrations.

SLS is fully functional (with new accumulators on all four corners).

Service records dating back 13 years available to serious buyers.
