A LITTLE BACKGROUND:

- After going thru its New Vehicle Pre-Delivery Inspection at Glauser Mercedes-Benz (Sarasota-FL, May 10th of 2000), this SL500 was delivered to its first owner on May 16th of 2000.

- The Mercedes was a third car in the household, so it only had 17,248 miles when its original owner transferred ownership to his best friend, who acquired it as a Valentine present for his wife on February 3rd of 2009.

- This SL500 would remain in Florida with its lady owner for the next ten years. It was seldomly driven as well and accumulated 34,403 miles as of today.

COSMETICS:

Clean interior with factory leather and carpets showing minimal to no wear at all and is consistent with a very low mileage vehicle. No cuts or scuffs on driver's seat. Sun visor mirrors look fresh and free of cracks and so is the center console which shows no scratches, blemishes or fading.

The body shows no dents and the beautiful Mars Red retains a glossy finish. Few very minor imperfections are present (probably done while being parked inside of the garage, see photos). Bumper covers are in excellent condition, showing no major scuffs or marks. Front bumper lower section is free of cracks, which are common on Mercedes R129s thanks to their low front profile.

Soft top is in like-new condition with plastic windows that are completely supple and clean. No yellowing or scratching is present.

Wheels are curb rash free.

MECHANICALS:

This SL500 drives the way it did when new thanks to its very low mileage and thorough reconditioning process to ensure that all systems work as intended. Powerful acceleration and crisp gear shifting are on tap and will propel you past most modern "sports" cars in comfort, while the ABS braking system will stop you with authority, should you ever run into an emergency.

The top works flawlessly thanks to all new hydraulics. The A/C is powerful and cold enough to keep you relaxed and comfortable even in the middle of the hot and humid Florida summer.

Power windows, power mirrors and power radio antenna work flawlessly as well.
